If you heard her answers in parliament there was a lot of I dont really remember... and My memory is â¦. and Id have to check on that sort of comments. Evasive for sure - but deliberately so, who knows? And now the emails have redacted material. Not a good look for the most transparent government ever. But in Ms Arderns own words Next question.

Well done Don. I suspect youre right and that the protesters havent read or heard anything from you. Their protest is based on what other people say you have said and people like the writer of this mornings opinion piece have a vested interest in deliberately misconstruing what you say. Unfortunately articles like hers are read as fact when they are trumpian alternative facts.

Jacinda Ardern woke up one year ago today deputy leader of a flailing Labour Party. Now shes the leader of a failing government. Theres progress for you. Whats happened to the pledge of transparency? Whats happened to no new taxes in the first term?

Had dealings with a few real estate agents over the years. Generally I would say the hardest work they do is in getting the listing and then they seem to be a lot less enthusiastic.

Lets face it. The only way Ms Ghahraman gets any media attention is by being a bit outrageous. Otherwise she has nothing to say of any interest to anyone. Headlines are a politicians oxygen and the Greens have been suffocating recently.

Th minority of backpackers are the problem. Same applies here. The minority of New Zealanders are the problem. Every population has its small number of people who let the rest down.

Yes she was under pressure but no greater pressure than any other Minister has been from time to time.Others coped - Ms Curren couldnt. She cant blame media pressure for that. An interesting sidelight is Ms transparency Ardern skirting round the truth this morning denying she would sack Ms Curren when Ms Ardern knew Ms Curren had already had her resignation accepted. A truly transparent prime Minister would have told the truth.

Universities are supposed to be bastions of free speech. Where would society be now if free speech were not allowed at universities? This decision, once again, demonstrates that so-called intellectuals pretend not to know the difference between free speech and hate speech or try to define it for their own purposes. The place to decide what is hate speech and what is not, is in a Court. You do not stop speakers on the basis that what they say might be dangerously close to hate speech. You let them speak and then courts decide whether the line was crossed or not. The problem with these self appointed guardians of what we should and should not hear is that it is difficult to challenge them because they have already won the battle in that the speech has not taken place. So powerful is this liberal lobby that they can prevent events with threats of violence. Violence that they would condemn if it were threatened by their opponents. These liberals are so uncertain and so unsure in their beliefs that they cannot allow contrary views to be aired for fear that their own views will not stand scrutiny. Massey University must stand up and overrule this decision.

Its called womansplaining and is generally restricted to pointing out that the things women do are great but when men do the same things they are pathetic and vain. The premise behind it all is that men are the source of all thats wrong with the world.

Because they have a schedule - other interviews lined up, news deadlines to meet and all that sort of thing. Do you think they should rearrange their day because Mr Peters cant/wont arrive on time? The time slot is well established and ms Ardern had no trouble meeting it. I have no doubt Mr Peters will provide proof about what time he was supposed to be there. Look how keen he was to show us his superannuation form to prove that was someone elses fault.....no, wait. He wouldnt do that either, would he?

In the run-up to the last election Ms Ardern promised the earth but now, actually governing the country, she finds things are a little more difficult. Problems cannot be fixed by promises, pixie dust and a smile. The Unions are playing hard ball because they want what was promised them last year. The strikes from the unions we have seen so far are just the tip of the ice berg. Other unions are sitting back to see what the first ones get so they know what to demand. The fiscal hole looks bigger and bigger.

The problem is that Asians do pillage natural resources. I have Asian friends Ive spoken to about this and it turns out they simply dont understand the issue until its explained and then they get the issue very quickly. I use Asian instead of Chinese because this is not a Chinese only problem.

Females assaulting their male partners is far more common than we think - or are allowed to think by feminists and the media.I know of a case recently where police were called to a domestic assault. The male showed a female constable the bruising and scratching on his face put there by his partner. The constables response? Youre a big man - get over it.Is it any wonder the stats dont show the 1 story?

Disgusting display from ms Williams. Failed to give her opponent any credit at all. Said she never cheats but her coach admitted he was cheating. Said she was standing up for womens rights but seemed to have forgotten her opponent was also a woman. Ms Williams is a great champion but she let herself down this time.

Thank you Andrea. With the greatest of respect, if theres a crock around here its this article. Its sexist. Youre reading critical inferences into articles - inferences that just arent there. Youre making excuses for Ms Ardern and youre doing it because shes a woman. If youre going to go to bat for the PM thats fine. Lots of other female journalists are as well but at least try to be factual and dont hide behind some sort of fantasy sexist viewpoint.

Except that recently when Maori voters were given the choice to go on the General Roll or the Maori Roll (a privilege not available to other New Zealanders) the Maori Roll uptake was not strong at all and if my memory is correct a number left the Maori Roll to go on the general roll. Perhaps Maori are beginning to reject Maori seats. Perhaps its Mr McConnell who should listen to what Maori have to say.

I had never heard of this until now but will watch this show to see what credible evidence the makers have. I suspect very little if any at all. The best way to debunk nonsense is to make it public. Banning it (in one way or another) just makes people curious and increases the number of viewers. I think its hilarious that this programme has been dropped because its not sufficientlyrobust but TVNZ insist on dumping Sensing Murder on us with absolutely no evidence of any integrity at all.

Ms Thomas got it badly wrong. We, and the police, have no evidence of any threats. I believe Ms Thomas was looking for any excuse to cancel the appearance and when there was one complaint she seized the opportunity. The council, in backing her, show theyre out of touch with the community. Ms Thomas should resign.

The PR PM. All smiles and touchy-feely and gets by when things are going well. When the going gets tough she has to form a think tank. You cant lead by committee on. Mr Garner says will the real Prime Minister please stand up. And Helen Clark wants to get to her feet because no-one else stirs.

How do you know its hate speech? You have no idea what he was going to say. What you really mean is thanks for stopping someone from saying something I would disagree with and might challenge my prejudices.

+38−4

And still the sky hasnt fallen on our heads. We have found out that we can have differing views(Phil Goff and Massey University excepted.) and still find our way forward. We need to be able to listen to diverse points of view because thats how we learn and grow. Shutting down peoples ability to speak and share takes us nowhere. Being afraid to hear contrary opinions simply demonstrates a closed mind.

+39−5

Ill admit no such thing. Its standing up for the right to speak your mind....to start a discussion. However some do not want to hear differing views. They are happy in their prejudices. You sound like one of them by accusing others of ulterior motives rather than listening and talking.

There have been incentives and encouragement for people to learn Maori for years and still, we are told, speaking rates are falling. The people have spoken. The majority dont want to learn Maori and forcing people to learn just wont work. Horses to water etc. Compelling people to learn will have consequences for the government that tries.
