Currently the most voted on article on stuff at the moment not only is the sentiment quite clear there is a high ratio of negative votes for all of the leading comments.
Clearly this kind of behaviour is not considered OK by the NZ Public. I'm guessing if we were in a true Democracy Bennett would be out the door with no severance pay.

I read she was complaining about being treated like a child. Stop acting like a child then Paula. Heres some advice for you: zip-it sweetie. | 157 | 273 | 116 | Quimtitty |
National showing a real lack of a spine with Simon looking out of his depth with his amateur questioning and Paula walking out. Keep this up and they will need to get comfortable in their seats | 146 | 215 | 69 | NPC |
Mallard did National a favour calling it off early. The more Bridges spoke, the more he looked out of his depth | 137 | 189 | 52 | NPC |
Imagine if we could all act like this in our day jobs. If you don't like something or don't get the answer you want you just up and leave. | 134 | 175 | 41 | TheBull |
You didnt see Bennett or any of her mates in the National Party complain about the lack of democracy in the way David Carter ran question time. Total hypocrisy from Bennett.

Chucked her toys. Childish and sad for democracy and the people she's in Parliament to represent. | 133 | 177 | 44 | timezup |
Not so nice on the other side aye Paula? | 133 | 184 | 51 | keeper_22 |
The sooner Paula Bennett leaves Parliament the better. She s so ineffective. Good for Labour though :) | 129 | 174 | 45 | Chillifunk |
i think it is fair to say not very many have confidence in either Ms Bennett or Mr Brownlee | 127 | 188 | 61 | crobar |
Dear Paula, Now you've walked out of the House, please keep walking. Thank you | 120 | 178 | 58 | finsta |
Brilliant - as per usual the National party seem to be devoid of the facts and instead make up challenges. To be clear: supplementary questions allowances are based on a quota system (from the number of seats the party holds). The Speaker has the right to remove or allow additional supplementaries. And the summary of all of this is:
National are currently 22 questions ahead of their quota based upon Mallard awarding them additional questions.
So even if National didnt look petty in this protest, they would also look ridiculous complaining about a system that, if anything, has been kind to them. | 117 | 150 | 33 | Mando404 |
Did he tell her to zip it sweetie | 113 | 131 | 18 | franklk |
National are just a bunch of sore losers, never have I heard such a bunch of wingers complain so much. | 112 | 197 | 85 | HomerS |
The opposition are looking more and more like an amateur mob of desperados. They cant get any traction attacking the government, as they seem like hypocrites when you consider the run down state of all our services. An amateur attempt to get attention away from the government. Losing voters by the minute. | 107 | 158 | 51 | truthsayer22 |
Some MPs havent coped too well with the change of Government. Most people are sick of the tactics of people like Bennett, Brownlee and National in general. If they cant cope with being in opposition, perhaps they should just jog on. There is nothing wrong with an opposition coming up with alternative ideas, but this sort of behaviour needs to go the way of the dinosaurs. | 105 | 149 | 44 | Verum |
No matter who is in power I would like like to see all questions answered completely and truthfully.
What we have had for decades is one-upmanship, smart alec responses and a complete disregard for the public parliaments say serve.
I wonder if they ever consider the public would like answers to the questions and practical policies, laws that are fair, justifiable and make sense. But Oh no!! Its question time which means nothing but political grandstanding, poking and getting back at each other.
Not very good value for MP salaries, expense, travel, accommodation, cars and a very super superannuation with free flights and perks.

STOP WITH ALL THIS KINDERGARTEN BEHAVIOUR!! You are all paid by the taxpayer to govern or represent NZ. This is why people arent engaged with the political process. Because all politicians act like children. Grow up. | 99 | 119 | 20 | [ (--) ] ZZZzzzz |
Oh, look, theres a huff, I believe Ill leave in it.
I suspect Ms Bennett is actually more frustrated by the performance of her party leader in the house, and has decided to stomp off in search of some cameras to talk to. Watch your back, Simon. | 95 | 140 | 45 | AJ777 |
