Bridges was in government for 9 years and held many important cabinet posts. Perhaps if he and his party had listened to NZers and understood the issues they face during those 9 years he wouldnt be in opposition.
ECan was set up by National to be non democratic and to put the interests of companies using and selling water for a profit ahead of everything else. Another piece of the John Key national party legacy that continues to have a negative effect on NZ.
Shame that national sold 49% of the power cos, bumped up the directors pay by a very large margin and then let them cash in the money that had been put aside for future power generation which they paid out as a special dividend. Such short sightedness from national, quick profits, long term pain.
Who is Jacinta?Ive never heard of her?Or is your mind so free that it doesnt bother to learn the basics, like for example, who the Prime Minister of New Zealand is? (hint - its not Jacinta!)
ExactlyWorlds largest army, huge reserve army, building many aircraft carriers, expanding their air force and navy and they expect us to believe they are all about peace.
I'm over the AM Show. It's more opinion than news or anything else and their egos have gotten out of control. They seem to think that their opinions are worth far far more than they actually are. They got what they deserve in this situation.
Thats right, theres a multistory building thats almost finished construction in Panmure, Auckland, thats been built for entirely for elderly chinese to retire too. These are very old chinese people that cant speak English and have been left here in NZ by their children who have now moved on. The building has virtually been completely paid for by the NZ taxpayer under national who have also committed the taxpayer to subsidise 75% of the elderly peoples rents and costs for the next 25 years.
Any Adams is lying about them closing the wage gap with Australia since 2008. That policy, despite being a campaign policy for the 2008 election, was dropped by national as not being achievable and then they said it was merely aspirational and not a policy anymore.
I support the nurses and wish them well. They do a fantastic job that is extremely demanding and most people here commenting negatively against them wouldnt have the nous nor the heart to do their job and would probably complain even louder if they had to do that work under those conditions and pay rates.
You dont have to just smoke marijuana you know. You can eat it, have it in a pill, infuse it in liquid and then there are the vaporizer type pieces of kit that dont burn it but turn the active ingredients to steam so you dont have the smoke damage.
I think China is behaving in a way similar to Germany prior to WW2. Building up massive armed forces and taking over territories that arent theirs while ignoring international law and treaties. We dont need another Chamberlain type person as a leader, fittingly we need one more like a Winston.
It would be a stupid idea. Whoever put a tax on like this would be voted out and the tax abolished by the next incoming party. If the tax couldnt be abolished then youd just transfer ownership into one of your kids names or put it in your pets name so you wouldnt have to pay it. There would always be a way around it.
Auckland missed its chance with Carlaw Park. It had the trains run right beside it so it couldve had its own station and out the front was the on ramps to the 3 motorways. It was right on the edge of town and only a short walk from the ferries. It was an ideal spot but rugby wouldnt have anything to do with it because of its League heritage. Shot themselves in the foot really.
I think the problem may be that previous tenants couldve smoked meth in the house and then its been picked up on and tenants who moved in after may have been unfairly accused of being the smokers.
Key wouldn't be interviewed on RNZ because they actually asked questions and wouldn't be satisfied with Aw shucks, I can't remember. That's why he did interviews on banal radio stations where he could talk about peeing in the shower or gay red shirts.
No, not long at all, its only taken 6 months.Labour decided to look at the science on the issue in December and the report is out in May.Its the previous government that couldnt figure it out and acted without proof.
It will be interesting to see his stats - pre ball tampering scandal and after - to see if he can keep his averages and strike rate going. Was he really that good or was he just good because of the tampering?
When you privatize something, even partially, you open it up to the many factors of greed. Such a shame that in the first year after national sold the 49% and bumped up all the directors etc pay packets and gave them share options that those directors then chose to cash in all the millions that had been put aside for future generation projects and pay it out as a special dividend.
Theres two incidents in the article, one where they took the meat and the head and the other where they just took the head, ie the trophy. If youre just doing it for a feed you wouldnt take the trophy head so to me they killed both beasts for the trophy and the meat was a bonus for them in one of the incidents. Hunger was not the driving cause.
Well they have to import the teachers to solve the problem. National flooded the country with immigrants and had no plan about how to deal with the infrastructure issues that come with increased population. National ignored education (eg. no pay rises and not enough teachers being trained) and now these problems need fixing.
Like how the Christchurch rebuild pumped up the figures for national but really they had nothing to do with it. Well, aside from bungling things up and giving âjobs to the boysâ like how they tripled the daily rate for people like Shipley.
Well this sort of thing has happened so I can understand the accusations. I had a friend who worked for Auckland councils parks and he had to often go and stop Asians who were killing ducks to take home and eat from various ponds and open spaces.
I dont think you read the whole article. That may have been inferred in the headline but the article stated that people do experience pain relief. I suppose you also think that John Key donated all of his salary to charity because thats what the headline said while the actual article quoted him as saying he would only give a bit of his salary to charity.
The previous national govt tried to restructure things and it turned into a failure. They wasted 700 million on HBL and it didnt work at all and in the end they canned their own system. They introduced many layers of beuracracy and inefficiencies in praise of middle management while ignoring those on the coal face who know what needs to be done.
The other winger, Ken Maumalo scored just five tries, but the centre outside him Solomone Kata has got 12.I would reckon that Maumalo has been denied at least 10 scoring opportunities this year as Kata has decided to try and be the hero and go it alone instead of feeding his winger. Its an improved year for Kata for sure but he needs to always be thinking of the teams glory and not of his own.I hope we dont have another finals situation like many years ago when Logan Swann had an unmarked player outside of him just metres from the line but decided to try and go it alone, got tackled and we lost the game. Always put the team first!!
John Keys employment history is exactly that, he gets in, makes his money and bails just before everything crashes. Not one company he has worked for has survived, they have all crashed under debt after he has left.
Sure, why not, I think hes deserving of it.After all they even give them out to people who have gotten this country into the most amount of debt weve ever been in so, hey, go for it.
Two ounces is a lot of marijuana. You would have to be an absolutely chronic smoker to get through one ounce in a month. Surprised at that limit of possession.
We admitted to ball tampering, yes. Why did we do it? Because the Pakistanis were doing it blatantly in front of the umpires and they were doing nothing about so our boys said ok then, well fight fire with fire.We didnt try to do it sneakily and then lie about it when we were caught like the aussies.
I think youre talking about union there, not league. League is very upfront and open with how it deals with players and their unfortunate behavior. They name them, fine them, suspend them and in some cases terminate their contracts. Union players get name suppression so no one ever knows who it is, they also get the charges dismissed and dropped so as to not affect their ability to play in the future and it all gets neatly brushed under the carpet.
The OBR as legislated by National under John Keys leadership means that the banks, should they get into any trouble, will be able to take money off the depositors. It is the depositors who have their money invested with the banks that will be held responsible by losing some/part of their savings to the bank. They very carefully describe the action as giving your savings a haircut as if its a stylistic trim but if you look into that statement youll realise that a No.1 is also considered to be a haircut too.
Most of the methods of consuming marijuana listed in this article do not involve smoking it. If you want to inhale it then you can use vapourisers which only activate the thc but dont burn the plant and produce carbon. Its 2018 you know.
It was. She really got behind and supported the bid to bring the World Cup back to NZ. Its not liked because it doesnt fit the one eyed right wing narrative at the moment.
Yes, its good food, now if they could just bring back Lion Red Id be stoked. The Carlsberg they have on offer is just terrible and undrinkable. Ive been to 4 games this season, the first game we attended 3 of us bought 4 packs and ended up ditching 2 of them each. 6 beers wasted, unpalatable, couldnt give them away as everyone else around us that was drinking was having 5% Woodstocks, which were not into as we find them too sweet and caffeinated. The other 3 games, we havent bothered to drink at the stadium, just get a few in before and after at the local. The Fritz Weiners and the kebabs were good though.
Yeah thats right. How dare people who study for years and years (most with large student debt) that want to be a positive contribution to NZ society think that should should get some assistance into a below average cost house in Auckland. It just goes to show how much the working classchanged under the previous national government.
The NRL banned people sliding in with their feet because Slater kept on kicking people when they were diving in to score. Next they had to ban sliding in with the knees as slater changed his technique and it was still dangerous to the scoring player. He was the only one to ever do this to a scoring player, intentionally trying to harm them. He also dangerously puts the boot out to kick people when hes trying to catch the ball, again the only one who does this. He tried it last night too. The storm is the reason why the grapple tackle, chicken wing, crusher and wishbone (and I think a few others too) have had to be banned due to the deliberate act of trying to harm the opposition. Billy has done all of those tackles in his career and he deserves to be banned for this shoulder charge. No doubt hes been a great player but he has also been as grubby as they get.
I dont think a penalty try shouldve been awarded. He couldve made a better tackle for sure but to me his body positioning indicates that he was never trying to tackle. He followed the ball all along the backline till it was passed to Feki and then he puts the afterburners on. At impact his left leg is in front and he is leading with his left shoulder and his head is on the wrong side to make a tackle which means a deliberate shoulder charge.I agree with the bring back the biff but at the moment the rules are what they are and Billy broke the rules. End of.
Then its medically allowed to have an abortion. Even the Catholic Church says its ok to have an abortion if the life of the mother is threatened so its classed as a life saving procedure rather than something done for convenience which is in fact killing an unborn child on purpose.
The problem with ACC stems from national coming into power after the gfc. ACC is a share trading account and with the wipeout of international share prices the value of their portfolio dropped significantly. Nationals answer to this was to increase the fees we all pay and to instruct ACC to deny as many claims as possible by hook or by crook.
Nz was broke from the previous national government run by Muldoon. We couldnt borrow any more money internationally, we had wage freezes, stagflation and the country was really in a dire position. Some things had to be sold at the time and changes made. The big problem is that national have been copying that 1980s Labour government ever since and havent had an original idea since Muldoon.
Lots of things were promised by John Key and Bill English but very little was delivered except for diversionary/distraction tactics such as flag changes etc.Don Brash in a piece today rated that national governments achievements and success as a ZERO out of 10
If you legalized marijuana and then in a few years time weighed up the damage caused by it and alcohol youd find that alcohol would still be the most damaging of the two. Something being legal doesnt mean it is right or good so that is no defense for alcohol.
You should watch the videos from peoples phones that are circulating on facebook etc that were taken at the time with aussies in the crowd telling him to calm down and not be so full of himself as its only park cricket.
Yeah, hes very solid on defense around the ruck but he wasnt putting any steps on in the game I saw him in. He was heavily strapped and just running straight so I think his knee history is still in the back of his mind when he takes the field. His team is going very well, undefeated so far.
Really, the article above reads An analysis by Stuff puts the number of reviews at 31, with 10 inquiries, and 27 working groups. The National Party says it's 122 working groups and 45 reviewsBridge's partys costing, released on Thursday includes the establishment of government reviews that are required by legislation or enacted by the previous government.ENACTED BY THE PREVIOUS GOVT!!Totally dishonest of national to say that 122 working groups are all there because of Labour. Bridge's has added his govt's groups to Labour's and tried to blame them for the total. Huge difference between Stuff saying 27 working groups and Bridge's saying 122. I think your numbers are off.
Tana Umanga only made the 2nd division team for parramatta before being told to pack his bags and go home. League players make it in Union all around the world. Look at the number of them that have played for England for example.
What youre proposing is actually a double tax. I work hard and pay my taxes but if I then , for eg., decide to donate $20 to my church, why should it be taxed again? If I donate $20 from my post tax wages to Coastguard or St Johns ambulance, why should that be taxed again?Ive earnt the money and Ive already paid the tax on it and I can give it to who I choose, as can you if you want to, but it shouldnt be taxed again.
Of course the storm are convinced Slater should play. After all they were also convinced that chicken wing, crusher and grapple tackles et al were good ideas too. Shows the merit of their club really.
No, the storm have a well recorded history of bringing harmful actions into the game and they keep on doing it until its made an illegal act and then they stop. Thats why it was a progression of all those tackle techniques that were banned over the years. You can do it until it ruled out of the game. Look at the farcical thing we had this year where the dummy half was passing it at a tackler lying on the ground, to the side of the play the ball, to get a penalty. That all started with the storm and other teams decided that if the storm can do it then they can too. It got out of hand and so the NRL banned it. Same process as the other rule changes the NRL has had to make to stop the bad storm behavior that Slater was an active part of. I dont recall Ridge being a serial offender like Slater and the sliding in was stopped directly because of Slater and no one else.
Another potential negative after effect of the previous national govt that changed the rules on pork imports allowing raw pork into the country despite the NZ Pork Industry warning about possible diseases spreading and campaigning against the changes.I do hope that this Labour Govt decide to listen and pre-empt any possible disease disasters.

Storm star Billy Slater charged, faces NRL grand final ban
Free Billy: Precedent tackle convinces the Storm that Billy Slater should play
I dont think a penalty try shouldve been awarded. He couldve made a better tackle for sure but to me his body positioning indicates that he was never trying to tackle. He followed the ball all along the backline till it was passed to Feki and then he puts the afterburners on. At impact his left leg is in front and he is leading with his left shoulder and his head is on the wrong side to make a tackle which means a deliberate shoulder charge.I agree with the bring back the biff but at the moment the rules are what they are and Billy broke the rules. End of.
World Rugby boss Agustin Pichot sparks outrage by sharing xenophobic squads list
It would be interesting to find out how many of those players in all of those other teams are eligible to play for NZ.Whats the % there?
Free GP visits for 13 year-olds and cheaper doctor visits for Community Service Card holders
You mustve been thoroughly disappointed with the previous governments 9 years of no action and neglect then.
Lynda Hallinan: Men can talk abortion with the woman they impregnated; otherwise its none of their business
Then its medically allowed to have an abortion. Even the Catholic Church says its ok to have an abortion if the life of the mother is threatened so its classed as a life saving procedure rather than something done for convenience which is in fact killing an unborn child on purpose.

ACCs undocumented blank cheque letters could number into tens of thousands, lawyer says
The Kiwi sporting conundrum: to tune in to the wild Warriors or awesome All Blacks?
Happens in both codes.
Whats gone wrong with New Zealands electricity market?
Nz was broke from the previous national government run by Muldoon. We couldnt borrow any more money internationally, we had wage freezes, stagflation and the country was really in a dire position. Some things had to be sold at the time and changes made. The big problem is that national have been copying that 1980s Labour government ever since and havent had an original idea since Muldoon.
"Just as a hip pocket issues were emerging, National opts for self-immolation
No, the investigation was initiated by national and national have been found to be the source of the problems.

National Party starts prepping RMA reform bill for 2019
Lots of things were promised by John Key and Bill English but very little was delivered except for diversionary/distraction tactics such as flag changes etc.Don Brash in a piece today rated that national governments achievements and success as a ZERO out of 10

Legalised dope is a licence for Big Marijuana to exploit young people
If you legalized marijuana and then in a few years time weighed up the damage caused by it and alcohol youd find that alcohol would still be the most damaging of the two. Something being legal doesnt mean it is right or good so that is no defense for alcohol.
Manly's loss to Warriors doesn't dent enthusiasm for Christchurch
There was an AB test on that night too.
Brendon McCullum rips David Warner over century celebration
You should watch the videos from peoples phones that are circulating on facebook etc that were taken at the time with aussies in the crowd telling him to calm down and not be so full of himself as its only park cricket.
Warriors under 20's stars: Where are they now?
Yeah, hes very solid on defense around the ruck but he wasnt putting any steps on in the game I saw him in. He was heavily strapped and just running straight so I think his knee history is still in the back of his mind when he takes the field. His team is going very well, undefeated so far.

Outsourcing Government: The $55m cost of reviews
All Blacks on Kalyn Ponga's radar as he contemplates code switch
Tana Umanga only made the 2nd division team for parramatta before being told to pack his bags and go home. League players make it in Union all around the world. Look at the number of them that have played for England for example.
Church sitting on property portfolio worth millions
What youre proposing is actually a double tax. I work hard and pay my taxes but if I then , for eg., decide to donate $20 to my church, why should it be taxed again? If I donate $20 from my post tax wages to Coastguard or St Johns ambulance, why should that be taxed again?Ive earnt the money and Ive already paid the tax on it and I can give it to who I choose, as can you if you want to, but it shouldnt be taxed again.
Free Billy: Precedent tackle convinces the Storm that Billy Slater should play
Of course the storm are convinced Slater should play. After all they were also convinced that chicken wing, crusher and grapple tackles et al were good ideas too. Shows the merit of their club really.
Storm star Billy Slater charged, faces NRL grand final ban
Pork industry alarmed about spread of deadly African swine fever
Another potential negative after effect of the previous national govt that changed the rules on pork imports allowing raw pork into the country despite the NZ Pork Industry warning about possible diseases spreading and campaigning against the changes.I do hope that this Labour Govt decide to listen and pre-empt any possible disease disasters.
The Kiwi sporting conundrum: to tune in to the wild Warriors or awesome All Blacks?
