I would prefer that someone was a tax resident in New Zealand for 30 years and worked/earned an income in New Zealand for over 20 years of over $32,175 per annum at current rates, being the full time minimum rate, before they received National Super.Why should someone born in this country who potentially works for 47 years, cor that looks like a long time, have to pay tax which subsidises someone who has only been in New Zealand for 10 years.Our taxes are better used elsewhere.

Bobo Lang should have increased the number of businesses he checked for the price of milk, also visit the store dont go online.We have purchased 2 litres of milk for at least the last 8 years from a local corner dairy in Christchurch, produced by Fonterra, for $3 per 2 litres. I have seen it for less.With Synlait building a new factory in Canterbury to supply Foodstuffs it will be interesting to see the new price in Foodstuff stores. It would appear the margin in supermarkets is much higher than a dairy selling for $3, maybe they should reduce their GP for milk from 20% or more to 10%.Interest to hear what Countdown would think of that. The farmers are not creaming it but the retailers may be doing so.
