Those teachers go to those countries because they have special skills, i.e. speak English. In most cases they are not emigrating, they are doing a job for a few years.
How many of these insulting teacher bashers have any idea what it is like managing 30 children, all of whom deserve or demand your attention simultaneously, plus dealing with demanding parents, colleagues and management. Any job that requires you do deal with a large number of people is stressful. With some students this can be VERY stressful. Everyone seems to think they know all about teaching and that anyone can do it. Just try it, not just for one lesson or one day but a whole term, and see how well you get on. btw I am not a teacher.
I would think the church should pay for its own repairs but, clutching at straws, would it be fair to say the cathedral is a tourist attraction and therefore benefits the non-Christian community too.
What qualifications does he require? Are you suggesting that only people with top grades have credibility? Is education just about academic achievement? What about the defence minister, what qualifications should they have?

Multiply that by 30, for a whole day and throw in the parents, the meetings, the preparation, the marking, the after school activities.....and, as we can see from the comments, many of the parents they have to deal with think they know how to teach better than the teachers, which doesnt help. Of course there are bad teachers; I wouldnt be surprised if there is the odd bad lawyer too. I work long hours but I dont have the stress of having to deal with so many people and I dont have to wear so many different hats each day either. People should show a little more appreciation for what teachers do
