It concerns me that others are dictating what I can and cannot hear by closing those down these two confronting speakers. The actions of those who have done this (including Phil Goff) are much more dangerous and worrying than anything these speakers could possibly say. Get your act together New Zealand - we are on a very slippery slope...

Business is the driver of all economies and governments need to take care of business first. Nothing works if businesses start failing. With building companies starting to fail already in the current economic cycle we should all be concerned at the knock on effect. They usually start to fail after a building boom in new homes. Whilst the real estate market is cooling off, it would be better to describe it as stalled. There are so few listings currently that people cannot risk selling their own homes as they risk not being able to find another to buy.The government should be focussing on making land more available and cheaper. Removing GST on land and new home sales would be a remedy here. That would stimulate the economy hugely. However, I dont see it happening with this government and with net immigration starting to reverse, we will see the cycle of people leaving NZ once more - house prices will level off and the economy will start to struggle. Followed by yet more tax. Bottom line is to make doing business easier - else sit back and enjoy the helper skelter ride to the bottom.

Just remember we have MMP to thank for this. Everyone who voted Labour or the Greens actually voted for Winston. He actually suggested to the Queen that NZ should become a Kingdom or a Principality. The Queen pointed out that to be either of those NZ would a king or a prince and that NZ should be satisfied with being a Country..

Wrong - they won the biggest individual share of the votes - every one else voted for Winston by proxy - in other words - they were used! ha ha ha ha ha ha! But we are all about to start paying the price. Keep on taxing Cindy - eventually you will run out of every one elses money.

There are many immigrant children who do not speak their mother tongue - I havent noticed it holding them back. Whilst I support keeping Te aero alive and understand the passion of those who treasure it, it is not a panacea for reducing health and prison population statistics for Maori. Maori generally would be better looking forward rather than backwards. Life is like a car - you have a wide windscreen to see where you are going and a small rear view mirror to see where you have been. I suggest we should all be looking forward. Then maybe thats where we will go.

Why? - I support keeping the language alive but the horse has well and truly bolted on this one. Learning Mandarin or Hindi would be a much better use of valuable school time. What a waste of time money and energy. More idealism from a one term government.

Sorry - I am sick and tired of paying to bring up other people kids through DPB AKA my taxes. The poverty gap has only gotten bigger because we have state sponsored/encouraged single parent families and the promotion of you are not responsible and by default the tax payer is. Political correctness is the best example of bullying I know and you may have noticed the term Bludger has disappeared from our daily vocabulary. Labour creates dependency and discourages free enterprise with its welfare payments and its labour reform. Also cracking down on successful charter schools - which are purely a reaction to over unionised schools where the worst teachers who destroy young spirits have a job for life. Labour sucks! Yes - sucks the life out of those who want to strive for a better life. God help us...

If Te Reo is so important to Maori, why have they let it die? In the past schools insisted that all Maori children should speak English. Speaking English opened a lot of doors for Maori. At home however, they could have maintained their own language, especially as it is supposed to be a treasure. It was their choice to let it die - it will be their choice to resurrect it. But really it is now just a historical curiosity. Time to move on and take time out to become something special - it is time for Maori to shine - Just like Simon Bridges is doing. More power to him...

Nailed it FATS - The deadwood actually damage our kids. The really good teachers are worth double - It is time for the unions to get real and require standards of excellence to belong to the union. Maybe they would then get more traction with pay talks. Having said that, if you dont have rewards for doing the job better than others in the profession, then why would you want to do a better job - other than personal pride. That only goes so far. Heres another idea - Inspired teachers could form their own Union - Hmmmm. By the way - if more teachers did a better job, then maybe we would have a smaller prison population - that would save a lot of dosh, which could be ploughed back into education - I think thats called a Win - Win.. Bottom line - the unions are the elephant in the room and the doorway is too small to push them out.

I dont get it - dont we already have drugs for pain relief? What is the point? As far as I can tell, this is just legalisation for smoking by stealth. Just like civil unions led to gay marriage. Unfortunately we have a nation of pot heads out there and we are all being gradually conditioned to accept marijuana as an everyday fact of life. Were just like the frog in a saucepan gradually heating up till we are all - well you get my drift. Ditch the whole thing and get real....
