Couples on $120 and $180k can afford mortgage repayments no issue it is all about being able to save the deposit for these people not getting the money to pay a mortgage. This looks like its targeted incorrectly, deposit assistance would of been sensible using shared equity. Quite simply the govt guarantees the deposit which is then paid off first back to the govt and then the home purchaser has the equity and can continue to pay down the loan to the bank. I have clients who are in this situation and would be able to build a new home if they could get a deposit but due to renting and 2 kids can not save enough to get a deposit although their mortgage payments would be less than the rent hey currently pay.If they are balloting cheap houses at less than the cost of the home this is wrong as some people will get cash for nothing and can sell up and use that money for anything after 3 years, might as well just give a cheque for $100,000.00 to some random on the street.Again will result in perverse outcomes

Keys was not a mistake it was a clear decision to drop the dollar quickly as EQC was selling overseas shares to return money for the earthquake rebuild. An extra 1 or 2 percent on $6 billion is a lot of money. A great strategy which payed off. This is just incompetence from someone without any economic nouse.

That would be because of the snobbery around degrees. The most ill informed and dumb people i have met have had some amazing academic achievement. Ever tried talking to a cryptologist, mathematician or some of these scientists. Practical ability especially in a person industry is one of the most important skills. I know people who have designed the courses, taught others their job who can not be promoted as they have not sit the exams although have written them, marked them and instructed those sitting the exams.

Was against it for what it is Pork Barrel Politics and a slush fund to ensure Winston First could pay for an electorate seat so they would survive as a party and still am. He has the money though so lets spend it sensibly and on good projects there is a need out there in high tourist areas as these normally have low populations and can not cater for the visitor numbers and requirements.People are not flying in to see Auckland they want to see the country side, the waterfalls and our amazing scenery plus meet the locals. Investment is required in places like Queenstown, Nelson, Rotorua and the likes and this slush fund could make a massive difference

We spend $80,000 sending the PM to Nauru for 2 days because she needs to get home to her baby. For that period we could of paid for 80 nannies at $500 a day to look after the child. Couples on $120 and $180k can afford mortgage repayments no issue it is all about being able to save the deposit for these people not getting the money to pay a mortgage. This looks like its targeted incorrectly, deposit assistance would of been sensible using shared equity. Quite simply the govt guarantees the deposit which is then paid off first back to the govt and then the home purchaser has the equity and can continue to pay down the loan to the bank. I have clients who are in this situation and would be able to build a new home if they could get a deposit but due to renting and 2 kids can not save enough to get a deposit although their mortgage payments would be less than the rent hey currently pay.If they are balloting cheap houses at less than the cost of the home this is wrong as some people will get cash for nothing and can sell up and use that money for anything after 3 years, might as well just give a cheque for $100,000.00 to some random on the street.Again will result in perverse outcomes
