Simple fix, â” remove the router ! No internet connected devices = no gaming online. Take the router to bed and work and that should help !

Im sorry, but how does a 12 year old have access to his parents money to the point he can buy what he wants unnoticed? And secondly, who is in charge in the house? Its a simple thing to disconnect the internet so he cant play. Put a password on the laptop, solves that problem. If he doesnt abide by the rules, unplug the xbox, give him some scissors and make him cut the power cable.

heres a tip to any parent trying to stop a childs addiction to gaming. simply be a parent and take all the platforms of gaming away. take the power cords out and keep them in your room at night and give them back as a reward for good behaviour or high school grades or when they have done there chores.dont blame the game for addicting them when you are just enabling the habit!

Fortnite is an issue many parents are facing, I can relate. My son has been gaming for years and is now 12. We only allow him to have the Playstation on the weekends which is a strict rule weve stuck by for a good 4 or so years. Just about every day he complains that his friends get their Playstation and the easy option would be to give in, but we just deal with the ongoing complaining instead of letting him on the Playstation. Not an easy fix but long term hell hopefully thank us that hes doing good in school unlike his gaming friends.

Hmmm. He is 12. She is the parent. So parent. if this particular game is having adverse effects on his life, take the necessary steps to stop it. Restrict device use. Remove the iPhone, or at least put restrictions on apps installed, access to wifi etc. Monitor his activity by making all device use carried out in common house area. And then actually pay attention to your kids. Watch for changes. Talk to them. But above all, parent them.

Parents like this are probably half the reason teachers are going on strike. This child (like many others) is likely to be a real challenge at school. Teachers get blamed for a pupils poor academic achievement - but the reality is they are expected (by many) to fix issues the parents have created. This kid is probably a self-entitled little brat, disrespectful and a real baby when told he cannot have something.

Have people forgotten how to parent these days. It sounds like she is helpless to stop him. I find putting the xbox, laptop and iphone in a cupboard works..... or here is an idea, change the wifi password. Take his iphone off him and guve him a Nokia 3310, perfectly good phone but no apps or games. This is unacceptable behaviour for child, she can just restrict his game time to supervised periods of her choosing. Be a parent!

I might be missing something here, but if you take all the devices away that he can play it on, he wont be able to? Its not rocket science lady! Then let him have them for a limited set time. Its called parenting!

This woman needs to remember that she is the parent. If you want the child to stop playing then take away the things he plays on. No child needs a tv in their bedroom. Let alone an Xbox. If he needs a computer to do homework then do that at the kitchen table. Bedrooms are for sleeping in. Parents need to start acting like parents and not their kids best friend.

wow the first thing is how can he get money out of your accounts, time to change pass word or pin number. secondly take his controls from him and tell him he needs to be outside not stuck in front if a game. the older he gets the worse it will be. good luck

This happened to us to the sum of $650. I made him pay it all back.
