Selling off national assets to prop up the economy doesnt work once you run out of assets John.

Its almost like Key is admitting that the booming economy has nothing to do with National, it is just a function of a strong global economy. | 70 | 128 | 58 | jch77 |
Keys rockstar economy was based on immigration and driving public services into the ground. Yesterdays man | 63 | 150 | 87 | Wurjus |
Why would anyone want to sell their soul to Winston Peters. | 56 | 72 | 16 | abcpem |
When winston warned the world economy was heading for a down turn he was ridiculed. When key says it hes the master apparently. | 54 | 94 | 40 | Jibbado |
Its exactly the same Labour Party they all rejected under Andrew Little. | 54 | 88 | 34 | VPutin |
Well we do look like a laughing stock to other countries so its no wonder they have lost their confidence in us. We are headed by a woman who has no fiancial experience. Jacinda needs to bow out now and realise she is no way a PM and never ever was. Labour spent all our money in foreign aid and pensions for the islands and race tracks for horses along with failed Kiwibuild that the rich will be buying up in droves. They have also encouraged people to breed more kids they cannot afford while flinging more money at them in the hope the social problems will fix themselves. If this keeps up we will be in huge trouble. | 51 | 105 | 54 | Devious Diva |
Like him or not , when it happens just as Key is predicting then dont complain that you didnt get fair warning. | 50 | 113 | 63 | Wisest The Great |
Just shows how uneducated the NZ public are! Totally sucked in by a feel good slogan âlets do thisâ & a party with zero clues!! | 50 | 120 | 70 | Not Likely! |
It says so much about the National party and their supporters that a brief interview by their former leader attracts bigger headlines and far more comments than a major speech given by their current leader, today.
Poor Simon. Not even helped by those on his own team.

What a shame that NZ business confidence spirals down when there is upwardpressure on low/middle class wages. Are our business leaders only happy when they are shafting their workers? | 49 | 114 | 65 | bluejusty2010 |
Wouldnt listen to anything John Key has to say, he truly screwed this country over. | 46 | 68 | 22 | ml007 |
Well thank you John for that sage advice. I mean 9 years of you and Bill running things saw record numbers of people on the street, families sleeping in cars, near zero wage growth unless you were a banker, milk company manager, corporate CEO or politician, a housing crisis, a meth and other drugs crisis, an understaffed health system with hospitals falling apart....etc, etc. For all the current coalitions faults, I would rather have a Government that runs an economy for the majority not the gilded few. | 46 | 71 | 25 | Fellwalker |
Hey John, hows that legacy convention centre coming along in Auckland? I see they have been raking the revenue off the 400 or so extra pokies for years and the door isnt open yet? Who made that one sided deal? | 45 | 62 | 17 | truthsayer22 |
you mean lets tax this. | 45 | 90 | 45 | roswellnewmexico |
So John Key comes out and spouts off about how bad its going to be if his party isnt in government at a National Party meeting. Preaching to the converted. The only people that idolise him are those that filled their wallets and bank accounts with foreign dollars while turfing citizens out to live on the streets and in cars. | 44 | 69 | 25 | truthsayer22 |
I think Bridges should distance himself from the high immigration policies that Key had. Until he does that then National will not improve one iota from here. | 42 | 79 | 37 | SGM |
Exactly Horace, They should have saved that minimum wage up for the 300k deposit on the 3 bedroom house and outbid those foreigners eh? Hows life on planet Key? | 42 | 61 | 19 | truthsayer22 |
Our business has certainly slowed down and others in the same industry are saying the same. Our staff are paid fairly well but when turnover drops it makes it hard to pay the bills, something has to give. | 41 | 60 | 19 | annie14 |
