There is no such thing as leftover chips. I quite happily reheat mine. They do wind up a bit soggy but by the time you put tomato sauce and/or vinegar on them theyre going to be soggy anyway.
Eating too much makes us feel guilty ??? Like a WINNER more like! I dont often have fish and chips but when I do, I love em!
a refry of cold chups first thing in the morning after a big night...bliss
What is this left over thing that you speak of?
Im lost ?? its food and paper so it is all biodegradable so what is the real issue? its not like it will hang around like plastic , I usually throw the old chips in the green waste or if winter burn it in the fire.
I think chips in Nelson must be made from potatoes that are air -freighted from Heaven in pure gold wrapping. I never have any trouble eating all 12 chips that make it into my regular half - scoop. No complaints, Im trying to cut back, and its fun to give each chip its own name - Matthew,Mark, Luke John etc. I notice other punters dont bother doing this. But most still say Jesus! when they see the price. A full scoop is less Biblical. Maybe I am a glutton, but somehow I still manage all 18 chips though.
In the ˜olden days' a scoop was a stainless steel container which is presumably were the term scoop came from.
Our chippy tried serving a metric scoop of chips whatever that is. 2 scoops didnt feed 3 small children. We stopped going there till they stopped doing it! My husband & kids love reheated chips. Nasty nasty people!
I can't be the only one who likes cold chips for breakfast.
Our local fish n chip shop has generous half scoops, always plenty, never wasted. Did you know you can freeze left over chips, they make excellent oven fries with a salad or cooked meal... delish.
Invest in an air fryer and you will enjoy leftover chips every time. They come out crispy and delicious.
Sorry, I dont understand this article. What are leftover chips? Dont think Ive ever seen any.
Does no one else re-fry or re heat their deep fried goodness?, Regardless there is never ever enough chips for my family, if anything hopefully I get a piece of fish for breakfast to cook up with lots of runny eggs.
Haters going to hate! I make toasted cheese sandwhiches with mine the next day on my george foreman grill!
Theres always the seagulls.
What kind of evidence do thet have about the amount of chips thrown away? Also it is quite easy to reheat chips and I do it on the rare ocassions that I get fish and chips. As a rule I generally ask for half a scoop.
The most expensive and stingiest fish & chips in the country come from Nelson.
I dont know about you but I never chuck chips away. they get cleaned up. its a crime against humanity not to finish your chips
so they did a survey did they ?? name and shame
Really easy to reheat the next day in the microwave in the paper they came in
